Google Nexus One with Android 2.1 and 1 Ghz

Google Nexus One

Tonight, Google has rung in the next round of the battle in the smartphone market - with the Nexus One, which is based on Android 2.1 and has a 1 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. The technical files can be found at PCTweaks.de - more exciting is how the other manufacturers of Android phones handle it.

After all, Google not only brings its own mobile phone, but also equips it with a software version that is not yet available in this form: Android 2.1, which as an essential innovation (more is unfortunately not yet known) has voice input in all menus. Motorola would certainly have wanted to earn good money on the Droid/Milestone a little longer - Google is now stealing the show. Whether Apple is worried is hard to judge - Google's mobile phone does not have the cult status of the Iphone, even if it is technically interesting.

The Nexus One can be ordered immediately in the USA - it is not scheduled to arrive in Germany until spring, and not from T-Mobile but from the arch-enemy Vodafone - probably they will forge a contract there that is minimally more attractive than that of the Iphone with the pink giant.
